Almeno all'epoca...

Sul libro del sig. Bramah la potrete ammirare in tutto il suo splendore!

  2. Well, I think the very first french patent for this type of coffee-pot is not from Tiesset but from John WHITEHEAD from Brougton (near London), deposited on 22/03/1840, delivered 18/06/840.
Anyway, the very first to propose this principle was Elard RÖMERSHAUSEN in 1818.
    Cheers,

  4. Just to be precise... now that I realize that I was misled by the first comment and that I'm not fluent in italian ;-) :
the pump in the Andrews coffee pot is used to directly push the water through the coffee whereas is Römershausen, Whitehead and Tiesset inventions, the pump is used to create a vacuum that force the water to pass through the grounded coffee. That's not exactly the same principle, my appologies.
This considered, Römershausen seems to be the first to porpose this principle also (on a large-scale machine), in 1821.

  5. Hello
1816 The first was "Comte Réal" for depression and the pressure of a water column . The beginning of the pharmacy ...
Römershausen, Rabaut Loysel,Caliman etc. .. are not creative inventors of a new application is assemblers / perfectionneurs and filing patents away from the original inventor country.
    Ciao

    2. No chance that will ever happen, dear Lucio! I hate the word "Never" but in this occasion, i am afraid... What do we learn? Our knowledge is restricted by the documents we can find, and extrapolation is misguiding. Is the patent owner, the inventor? (see R.Radaelli - P- Buffa) Did it get patented (or not) because that person could afford it (or not)? The first inventor... until we find an earlier patent. I am much more careful now that i was 4 years ago. If someone registers an invention abroad doesn't automatically means they were enemies, it could also mean the 2 patent holders were business partners... and with patent procedures lasting longer than others in the different countries... it would be a mistake to think that one was "first". How much was the access/knowledge of a patent holder regarding former inventions? Also, Maybe different inventors had the same idea in different countries, maybe a week, a year, a decade later. We have internet now. We can see patents online. How was it in 1816??? Anyway, i like to think they are millions and millions of different greys... and only one white and one black. Ciao Lucio!!!

  6. Ciao Mike e Lucio

    1. I just would like to add this: to the knowledge i have, coffee travelled from east Africa, through north Africa, the Arab Peninsula, Turkey, Eastern Europe, central Europe to arrive to West Europe. I always hear of Germany, France, England. Has anyone checked the patent offices in Ethiopia, Yemen, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Hungary... etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. (and etc. i mean the czech republic, Moldavia, Poland ... all countries that didn't exist at the time) ? Please don't tell me you haven't.

  7. I had started to formulate a long answer ... but i realised i must be a poor researcher, because i have problems to make a full puzzle with pieces given to me by the first generation (sons and/or daughters) that was born from the 6 original inventors/manufacturers. And you are writing a story that dates back to 8!!!!! generations!!! (without contacting the families i suppose). I heard MANY MANY times sentences from these sons and daughters that started with "i think i remember that my father told me" about facts that happened 10 years before their birth. To really grasp what i mean: Ask yourself what your father did 10 years before your came to this world! My point of view is that - and i say that because i lived it - it is better sometimes to be extra cautious, not fall into the trap of logic ;.) ... and to admit that some events don't really make sense, or don't reflect what really happened at the time... and that's completely alright.

  8. Imagine Robbiati is suing Tarditi (example)
Court both inventors must produce evidence of the novelty of the invention relative to the date of patent inventions that were filed before to prove that their patent is a real novelty .
Imagine having the expert report of this time during the trial that explains that this invention is not new or is in providing evidence (giving also other information on other patents ..) )
Even if the expert of that time may be unaware that a Hungarian in his workshop first to invent this principle, this report gives you a snapshot of the legal time without lies in court.
Most important to profile a time not knowing that perhaps there is an inventor who creates the invention before another and so we do not speak of two because it can have a third or Moreover, if we do nothing and cry that the odds are too numerous .
The trap is to believe that we know all our personal logic ok , but to be negative about equally by the precautionary principle is the same.
It is the same for your great research Robbiati, Stern etc ... Even with all your work in the background of the background, I can tell everything is false because there are other inventors without providing the evidence and put you in a position to justify yourself again and again just as a precaution "maybee"i broken your bigest work?

    1. oh.. I have a dejavù.

Andrea, Mik , do you know each other? have you ever speak in french directly? this would help.
This is a "funny blog", where seriousness is not appreciate.
You have good ideas, and lot of experience, but different point of view of the same reality.

Next step is well known, but I would not to see it. No fight please, only kind opinions and love for what we would love to believe.
History is always far from reality, ask to your mother to describe facts you remember very well: 2 different stories.

    2. Yes Lucio, we already wrote to each other in French. Maybe it would help if my Blog was written in french. I have nothing to prove. (so i don't know yet how you can tell me everything is false). I am just presenting the results of my research. This is it. Sometimes, facts do make sense (Mr. Robbiati and Mr Stern were business partners). Sometimes, they don't (Rights for the patent sold to Hungarians before the creation of Brevetti Robbiati, or Mr. Stern registering internationally the trademark "Atomic" in 1950)... and that's it. Sometimes they remain so for 4 years, until i find another document that brings light into the half-shadow. Sometimes, a relatives remembers something and that is fine too... sometimes it don't fit to the documents either. This is life. No worries Andrea, you can't break my biggest work... that's all the personal experiences i made on the way. You can judge it if you want, but you won't take it away. By the way, "Maybe" is not precaution, it's humility. It is admitting that i know nothing... Ciao!

  9. Bonjour Lucio
