I am a regular poster on Home-Barista.com and met Lucio there. Your challenge will be how to have your forum reflect the coffee knowledge that is already in your culture, in its very bones. What is the best of the best that already exists in Italy? What goes beyond the average? Which are the very best coffee bars? Which are the ones that are a commonplace and average? Who are your finest roasters and your everyday average roasters? Who experiments with coffee as fine cuisine? How has Italian coffee culture spread throughout the world and who is innovating outside of Italy in a way that can be brought back home? (In any italian bar, when you asked for an espresso, you get an espresso... that's not the case in Paris, London... or Vienna and maybe somewhere else in the world. And it will cost you 1€ not 2,40). 2) The lobbying is huge... Businesses move where money can be made. The fact that Japan has more 3 Star michelin restaurants than France doesn't mean french cuisine is dead... it just mean they are more people ready to pay huge money for a good meal. One of the Forums you quoted above is nothing else than a commercial website dressed as a public discussion forum. You get forwarded nearly immediately to a company... and your critics get deleted by senior members who are themselves part of the industry. *** Maybe italians don't need a forum because they know where to get a good espresso.MikJanvierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12436085986149980518noreply@blogger.com
